4 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. margarine
3 c. oatmeal

Preparation:

Mix margarine, sugar, milk, cocoa, and salt, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Stir thoroughly and drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or foil. You have to work quickly with this since it will harden quite fast.

This was something that my mom used to make back in the 60's. We didn't have a lot of money, so these were a treat. Sometimes, when the batch didn't harden, mom would roll them in powdered sugar. It was a rich, sticky, chocolatey treat.
